Maple Whiskey Sour

How to Make the Best Maple Whiskey Sour

There’s something magical about combining whiskey with maple syrup—it’s a pairing that captures the essence of autumn in a glass. This maple whiskey sour elevates the classic whiskey sour with the warm, rich notes of real maple syrup, creating a cocktail that’s equal parts smooth and sophisticated.

The real star of this drink is the technique: the double shake method (dry shake followed by wet shake) creates that beautiful, silky frothy top that makes this cocktail so visually appealing and luxuriously textured. The egg white might sound unconventional, but it’s the secret to that signature foam that gives this cocktail its creamy mouthfeel without any raw egg taste—the citric acid from the lemon juice essentially “cooks” the white during shaking.

Perfect for serving at your next fall gathering or enjoying by a cozy fireplace, this maple whiskey sour is a seasonal delight that will have your guests asking for the recipe. The balance of sweet maple, tart lemon, and smooth whiskey creates a drinking experience that’s both comforting and refined.
