How to Make the Best Raspberry Margarita

This fresh raspberry margarita is the perfect way to enjoy a fruity, refreshing cocktail that tastes like summer in a glass. With muddled raspberries, smooth Chambord liqueur, and quality tequila, this drink strikes the ideal balance between tart, sweet, and sophisticated. Whether you’re hosting a backyard gathering or simply treating yourself to a special drink, this recipe comes together in just minutes.

What makes this margarita stand out is the combination of fresh raspberries and Chambord—a luxurious black raspberry liqueur that adds depth and elegance to the classic margarita base. The muddled raspberries release their juices and natural sweetness, while the lime juice keeps everything bright and balanced. You can opt for the traditional salted rim or skip it for a smoother flavor profile.

Make this margarita by the glass for a single serving, or scale up the recipe to make a pitcher for parties. Either way, you’ll have a delicious, Instagram-worthy drink that’s sure to impress. Serve it over fresh ice with a lime wheel garnish for the full experience.

Instructions

Prepare the Rim

  1. If you would like a salted rim, run the lime slice along the rim of the margarita glass. Pour sea salt onto a small plate and swirl the moistened rim into the salt to adhere. Set aside.

Mix the Drink

  1. Add the raspberries and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Muddle until the raspberries are well-pulverized.
  2. Pour in the tequila, Chambord and lime juice and add a handful of ice.
  3. Put on the cocktail shaker top. Vigorously shake for 15-30 seconds.
  4. Replace the top with the Hawthorne or cocktail strainer and strain into an ice-filled glass. If desired, garnish with a lime wheel. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Chambord is a black raspberry liqueur that adds depth and a sophisticated berry flavor to this margarita.
  • For the best flavor, use fresh raspberries rather than frozen.
  • Reposado tequila, which is aged for 2-12 months, adds more complex flavors than blanco tequila.
  • Make a pitcher for parties by multiplying the ingredients and shaking in batches.
